The Side Door Christian Youth Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment, free from alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, for the youth of the community. Through the generosity of the family of A.C. Hart, the organization has been given a home in the former Side Door Grocery building, located on Frederick Street in Arenzville. The Center is presently being developed to provide opportunities for a variety of youth activities and socializing, as well as a quiet area for studying or tutoring.
The Side Door Christian Youth Center is operated by a board of parents, grandparents, pastors and youth of the community. The officers are Jim Lynn, president; Theresa Langley, vice president; Shelia Stephens, secretary; and Karen Nobis, treasurer. The organization's mission is to "provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youth of our communities to gather, and through a Christian atmosphere, help guide them to become self-confident and mature adults." The Side Door Christian Youth Center relies on private donations and grant funding to cover its operating costs and appreciates your support of their ministry.
